This is a literate AU Twitter RP about modern day witches. You don’t need any in-depth knowledge on magic and witches to join. As long as you think this might be fun for you, we are more than happy to welcome you here!
All the witches in this RP are part of a coven that is located in a small town called Hillcrux Valley. Here in Hillcrux Valley, the coven follows an ability-based hierarchy. Though you have free reign to be as creative as you wish with your characters and their abilities, please be sure to still abide by the hierarchy.
There are three levels that you can achieve: Novice Witch, Intermediate Witch, and Advanced Witch. That being said, you are able to move up in the hierarchy over time as your character’s powers develop. In-depth information regarding the hierarchy can be found in the next page.

HILLCRUX COVEN
HEIRARCHY
THE HIGH WITCH
The elusive leader that governs all activities done within the coven. Any information about them is scarce and extremely difficult to come by due to the ever-present anonymity surrounding them. They're unknown by the coven, and want it to stay that way, it seems.
With the position of High Witch comes a certain amount of skill and finesse to be present. Despite their quiet and mysterious nature, the High Witch is known to be extremely powerful. Their magical abilities are on par with, perhaps even more so, than their current position of power.
THE COUNCIL
They are the High Witch’s most trusted advisors. Consisting of five witches, the Council holds the second highest authority within the coven, and similarly to the High Witch, are very powerful. All members of the council are Advanced Witches and give announcements to the coven from the High Witch if they are busy or are not present.
Leading the Council and representing it is Councilwoman Lucia Greeves-Kang, mostly referred to as Councilwoman Kang.
COVEN MEMBERS
Advanced Witch. Advanced Witches are individuals who have a mastery over four or more skills. These individuals are usually those who have been practicing for a long time from a young age and actively use magic. It is also the highest from the three ranks a witch can achieve in the coven.
Intermediate Witch. No one becomes an Intermediate Witch at birth. A witch can be born with power but you can’t really be considered an Intermediate witch if you don’t have mastery over two to three skills. A majority of coven members fall into this category.
Novice Witch. Novice Witches are individuals who have a mastery over one skill. This category is mostly filled by those who have just recently joined and /or children of witch families.
FOUR SEASONS CEREMONY
A ceremony that the coven celebrates to bring in the new season. Just as the name implies, it happens every quarter. There is music, food, and all sorts of festivities. But what makes the ceremony particularly special for the coven, is because it is the only time witches are able to receive blessings from the High Witch and move up the hierarchy.

THE COVEN
The abandoned school building. Located near the outskirts of the town, it used to be a boarding school, it’s been closed for decades now and it has become the main base for the coven. It is where the high witch lives and where witches gather. All coven members are welcomed to stay and live there though many choose to have their own place of residence.
Woods. At the outskirts of town, near the abandoned school building. Many rumors and tales arise from there, locals tend to keep their distance from it.
MAIN TOWN
Town Hall. The upper echelons of the local government seem to know some things that others don’t.
Public Library. There appears to be many books with missing pages and half-told tales here. What is it that they don’t want you to know about?
Central Park. Located at the heart of the town. It’s a wide park where many children like to play.
Roller rink. As it is a small town, there aren’t many recreational spots which makes the roller rink extremely popular among the locals.
Theater. Watch movies, have fun. They ask you not to have sex in the theater, please. Not that much fun.
Mall strip. There is one main big shopping area where you can find more established brands. Otherwise, there are smaller and local shops scattered everywhere across town.
